The original Nordic Wallbed design was improved by making the four shelf supports thicker, adding an enclosed bed cabinet back, creating a folding desk surface for the closed bed front, and installing doors and pull-out nightstand trays on each side of the bed. The project is made of hickory which was aged, or "distressed" to give the piece more character. Additionally, the wall above the bed was trimmed to compliment the project, along with a terrace shelf that connects to the right upper corner of the project and wraps around into the next room.
