Made of hickory, this folding desk is part of a wallbed project, and features a rule joint as found on drop-leaf tables, fold-out supports with adjustable levelers, and old railroad car-coupler inspired pin locks. To open the desk, the pin retainers (with rare Earth magnets to keep them in place when the bed is opened) are removed. The desk surface is then free to be pulled up into place, and the supports can be rotated out after unlocking their surface bolts. When the bed needs to be opened, the desk is locked-down by reversing this process. |
