Made of walnut lumber and walnut plywood (furniture grade), this nine-foot long by seven-foot-tall wall unit has many useful features including a pull-out keyboard tray with fold down front (doubles as a wrist support), large drawers for hanging files and smaller drawers for supplies--all of which are dovetailed and have English locks, adjustable shelves, A CPU shelf in the kneewell, a large work surface, and a "cubby area" behind raised panel doors with custom arches. The cubby area has three small dovetailed drawers made from solid burl walnut, file dividers, movable half-shelves up top, and a pair of portable file boxes on either end of the file dividers. Construction is mortise-and-tenon, dado & rabbet, tongue-and-groove, and other traditional joinery, all of which is typical for The Colonial Cabinet Shop. An eight-leg panel desk was also a part of this project. |
