The original top for this factory made table had veneer problems; the client wanted a new top made to replace the old one. The client also wanted a different look, and chose the walnut to contrast with the pickled oak base. The table is 9' long with the leaves installed. Upgrades to the re-used table hardware include brass locating pins (vs. the wooden ones), draw-tight seam locks on all seams (the original had them only on the main tops), and additional top attachment ledgers. The tops are made of walnut plywood with walnut edging securely attached with tongue-and-groove joinery. The gloss finish took nearly a week to complete. |
