Made of poplar with walnut details, this shoebox sized piece was shaped using a bandsaw, rasps, files, and a beltsander. It is basically a dovetailed drawer with a high bottom, cut-out sides, and a fitted lid. Compare the styling to the "Concept Table" in tables/desks category; there's just something about that shape (perhaps I'll sculpt it with mashed potatoes like Richard Dreyfuss).
