Made entirely of walnut and walnut veneers, this desk has pinned mortise-and-tenon, sliding dovetail, and other complicated joinery. Four "secret" compartments add storage space behind both drawers and in the narrow places behind each side apron. Other features include dovetailed drawers with hand-fitted locks and specially fitted keyhole escutcheons, hand-carved pencil trays, a large computer keyboard slide, tapered legs, and walnut burl veneer panels as the main attraction (under 12 applications of hand-rubbed finish).
