What to do if you like your bedroom furniture, but want a bigger bed,
but the style is no longer available? By using the queen headboard and
attaching it to solid cherry "extension pieces" custom-made in the style
of the bed, you can have your king-size bed and sleep in it too! A new
footboard of solid cherry was also made, and carved designs were added
to it. Surpentine molding of cherry was made to ease the transition of
the old headboard to new extensions. Additionally, the box spring
support ledgers were replaced with mortised-in steel brackets in order
to lower the height of the mattress. |
