Chests made by The Colonial Cabinet Shop are finished on all four
sides, are made of furniture-grade veneered plywood or solid wood, and
feature a mortised brass piano hinge. Another standard item is a
strong, uncomplicated hardwood lid stay that fits into a mortise in the
top. Any size, stain color, or wood is available.
Options too numerous to mention include: lift-out trays, cedar lining,
locks, carved appliques, inlays, drawers, and trims to name just a few.
The sample chest shown is 16"x10"x12", and is made of Maple plywood
with solid maple base and battens. It is stained cherry.
