This table was made in the 1930s in the style of furniture maker Duncan Phyfe (1768-1854). One of the legs was broken at the mounting point, and was even missing a large portion of wood. This piece had to be replaced with a "grafted-in" wedge of poplar and then be carved to match the other legs. The rest of the table needed general repairs and rejuvenation of the finish. A series of restoration photos was made for the client, who liked the project results so much, he posted them on Flicker |
