Made to look similar to ammo crates turned on their ends, these cases are built of 3/4" birch plywood with maple edging. They were designed for a World War II militaria collection, with a few pieces shown for scale. The exteriors are a custom mixed "Olive Drab" green paint with stenciled lettering and and a "D-Day" star. The interior paint is also a custom mix--US Navy Gray, mixed by a Vietnam Vet who was himself in the Navy, and who painted plenty of gray while stationed in the South China Sea.
