This large and complicated all-mahogany project has many more details than a mere six photos can show; a solid wood split-finial crest with swan neck trim tops the cabinet. A pair of arched-top, raised panel pocket doors ride on heavy-duty hardware and open to reveal a flat screen TV with dovetailed storage drawers (made of contrasting woods to show the dovetails better); down below are more raised panel doors that open to reveal even more dovetailed drawers, storage shelves, and a pull-out stereo cabinet that also rotates for wire/cable access. The piece is framed by pilasters with large flutes and a tall base plate with plinth blocks. The entire unit is mounted into a former fireplace opening, creating an interesting illusion in the room. |
