This project is made of quarter-sawn white oak and birch plywood with walnut accents. The latches are shop-made; the hinges are the typical hardware store variety, but have been hammered and blackened as were the latches (see "Gothic Anvil Stand"). The frame and panel construction has pinned mortise and tenon joinery with a round walnut dowel capped by a square walnut element.
