Originally made in a factory around 1917, this kitchen appliance from a bygone era has found new life through a thorough restoration of it's outer shell and a completely new interior cabinet. The old interior was rotted beyond hope of salvation. The ice box was methodically dismantled piece-by-piece, even the frames and panels of the sides. A new base plate was made, along with a new piece for the broken top--the new wood was "aged" to match the rest of the ice box. Finally, new hardware was installed to replace the missing and damaged hinges and latches. |
