This storage chest was built for a television show pilot. The idea was to build something simple, using only a few hand tools and a skil-saw, with materials available at home stores. Less than twenty cross-cuts (skil-saw) and a few nails went into this box. They are simply pine boards right from the lumber aisle cut to length. A visit to the hardware aisle produced the hasp and hinges. Gun bluing chemicals were used to give the shiny zinc parts an antique look. Finish is water based walnut stain coated with water based urethane. Not bad for fifty bucks worth of material, huh?
