The special features on the Jeffersonian Library include the hand-carved dogwood flower rosettes with laurel wreathes, the dentil crown trim (over 200 "teeth", and each block was a separate piece!), and the lighted, center display cabinet with raised panel doors. All the shelves are fully adjustable and there are nearly 1200 shelf pin holes for this purpose; these were each stained by hand. The long, center shelves are double-thickness for added strength to prevent sagging. The library is made of cherry and is 13' long. All trims, mouldings, fluted pilasters, etc. were made at The Colonial Cabinet Shop--as usual. |
